Catharine Tian

Catharine Tian is a Master's student in Biomedical Engineering at Columbia University. Her current research focuses on computational methods for pulmonary CT analysis, including quantitative evaluation of pulmonary vessel skeletonization and 3D airway classification using Point Transformer architectures.

Before joining Columbia, Catharine completed dual bachelor's degrees in Bioengineering and Psychology from the University of California, San Diego. Her previous research spans neuroengineering, biomedical signal and image analysis, and medical device development. Catharine is interested in translational medical devices and is driven to create technologies that bridge engineering and human health, advancing innovations that improve patient outcomes.
