Biography
Dr. Frank A. Provenzano is an Assistant Professor of Neurological Sciences at Columbia University, affiliated with the Department of Neurology and the Taub Institute for Research on Alzheimer's Disease and the Aging Brain. He holds a B.S., M.S., M.Phil., and Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Columbia University. Provenzano's work in HBIL contributed to advancements in neuroimaging techniques, particularly for studying neurological diseases like Alzheimer's disease and schizophrenia.
Dr. Provenzano has developed advanced imaging techniques, including non-BOLD fMRI, to analyze small brain regions like the hippocampus for identifying biomarkers of disease risk and progression. He also works on large-scale neuroimaging data analysis, integrating machine learning to extract clinically relevant biomarkers from routine brain scans. His work aims to bridge research and clinical applications by repurposing existing imaging data for diagnostic and therapeutic advancements.
