Biography
Gert Schoonenberg is a biomedical engineer from the Netherlands who completed an MSc internship at Columbia University's Heffner Biomedical Imaging Lab (HBIL) as part of his graduate studies at Delft University of Technology.
During his time at HBIL, Schoonenberg contributed to research in cardiac imaging, focusing on real-time 3D echocardiography and optical flow techniques for analyzing strain in the human left ventricle.
After his internship, he pursued a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology, where his research centered on 3D reconstruction techniques for percutaneous coronary interventions.
Professionally, Schoonenberg has been with Philips for over 13 years, developing medical software applications that enhance clinical workflows and patient outcomes.
