Yifei Sun

Collaborator (CU)

Biography

Dr. Sun's research focuses on statistical and machine learning techniques for analyzing time-to-event outcomes and longitudinal measurements. She has developed nonparametric and semiparametric methods for studying marked recurrent event processes, where repeated events (e.g., clinical visits) are influenced by a terminal event (e.g., death). Her work also addresses left truncation bias in survival analysis. Recently, she has explored decision tree learning for dynamic prediction and event history analysis using electronic health records. In addition to methodological advancements, she collaborates with clinicians and epidemiologists on studies related to COVID-19, Alzheimer’s disease, and infectious diseases.
