Biography
Yu Gan, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology. He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University in 2017, working under Dr. Christine Hendon in the Structure Function Imaging Laboratory. His research focuses on leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning for biomedical imaging, including applications such as cardiac imaging and cervical tissue analysis. During his time at Columbia, he contributed to advancements in optical coherence tomography (OCT) and tissue characterization techniques.
Dr. Gan has received multiple prestigious awards, including the NSF CAREER Award, and has held academic positions at the University of Alabama prior to joining Stevens. He currently directs the Intelligent Imaging and Image Processing Lab at Stevens, where his work continues to innovate in medical image analysis and diagnostics.
