Coulter College @ EMBS 2013
One of HBIL’s graduate students, Viktor Gamarnik, is attending Coulter College at BMES 2013 in Seattle, Washington, as part of the team representing Columbia University. The program provides a multidisciplinary exploration of topics related to patent law, regulatory strategy, reimbursement codes, etc. The goal is to provide participants with the tools required to accelerate the translation of biomedical innovations to the market place to improve patient care.

Dr. Andrew Laine begins term as Chair of the Council of Societies
We are proud to announce that Dr. Laine has recently begun his term of service at the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE). Dr. Laine will be serving on the Board of Directors as the Chair of the Council of Societies.

We are proud to announce the publication of our paper: “A Framework for Mining Signatures from Event Sequences and Its Applications in Healthcare Data”, Wang, Fei, Noah Lee, Jianying Hu, Jimeng Sun, Shahram Ebadollahi, and A. Laine, IEEE TPAMI, Feb 2013. This work was part of a collaboration between IBM T.J. Watson Res. Center, Hawthorne, NY, USA and the HBIL.
